MASTERS ON PAPER

This exhibition focuses on works on paper by master artists. In contemporary art, works on paper are no longer merely "sketches" or "minor works," but an independent art form.

Many artists use paper as their primary medium, exploring the possibilities of the material's fibers, folds, and burning, which allows for a clearer view of the artist's spontaneous creative process.

Compared to oil paintings on canvas, works on paper offer less room for repainting and reworking, making the artist's directness and skill more apparent. Brushstrokes, erasures, pencil marks, and corrections are also more easily preserved on paper.

Unlike oil paintings, works on paper reveal the artist's romanticism and spontaneity.
